Hi there! I’m Bella — breakup coach and writer.

What I do

I work one-on-one with clients, coaching them through their breakup and helping them develop the skills necessary to navigate their next relationship more consciously and effectively.

I’ve been writing about relationships, breakup recovery and personal growth on my blog for over 6 years.

My story

It all started in 2015. I was in an unhappy, stagnant, dead-end relationship, but I was too scared to leave. I didn’t think I’d be able to handle the grief, and even though I knew deep down that he wasn’t right for me, I couldn’t break my attachment to him. I had lost myself, and all of my wounds were being activated — effectively tethering me to him. So what did I do? I started a blog. I wanted a place to dump all the resources I could find for getting over a breakup so I could finally work up the courage to end things, and be able to handle the aftermath. A few months after starting the blog, I finally ended things with that guy, and haven’t looked back since. Little did I know, this experience would be the beginning of something bigger than I could have imagined.

As a coach, content creator and blogger, I’ve found an outlet for my greatest passions: personal growth, writing, and most of all — helping people. It’s been so fulfilling and enlightening to hear people’s stories, read their comments, chat with them, and offer my advice and compassion. I’m very grateful to be entrusted with the role I have, sharing resources as well as my own insight. The intensity of my passion for this work just keeps growing; I keep coming up with new ideas and never run out of things to talk about. I’ve also met so many wonderful people along my path, whom I’m very grateful for.

Since the day I started that blog, I’ve continuously developed my understanding of relationship dynamics, breakup recovery, and mental/emotional wellbeing. I’ve also deepened my self-awareness and grown as a person in so many ways. Nearly every day for the past 6 + years, I’ve been digesting, accumulating and sharing resources for healthy relationships, breakup recovery and self-compassion. I’ve read more books and more articles than I count, and I’ve learned from experts in the field such as Melody Beattie, Dr. Alexandra Solomon, Christine and Bret Eartheart, Mark Groves, Hailey Magee, Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, Eckhart Tolle and many more. Though I owe much to these people, I’ve also learned a tremendous amount from my own experiences. My heart has been cracked wide open more than once, and each time I got better at moving on — discovering, practicing and refining the strategies I now share with clients as well as on my blog and Instagram. I’m a recovering codependent, I have abandonment wounds, and although my attachment style is more secure these days, I am a work-in-progress and I love it. I’ve realized that not only is perfection impossible — if it weren’t, it would be a deterrent to true intimacy. Brené Brown says it best, “Staying vulnerable is a risk we have to take if we want to experience connection.”

I love reading and writing, as well as yoga, hiking, biking and kayaking. My favourite place to be is around the bonfire with loved ones, and I make sure to laugh every single day.
